I don’t know about you but after I watched Jaws back in 1975 it gave me the heebie jeebies for the rest of my life. The weekend after watching it I ran out of the sea at Bournemouth convinced a hungry great white had swum up the English Channel for a spot of lunch...me!

And that was after watching the movie in plain old 2D. So there is no way you’re going to get me anywhere near a facility that has sharks in 7D!

7D?...Is it real? Over to Wikipedia.  Seven-dimensional cross product is a bilinear operation on vectors in seven-dimensional Euclidian space.

Yeh! I thought so. Or is it? Here are a few alternative, and slightly more understandable descriptions.

7D cinema brings you the newest technology in Virtual Reality. Instead of watching a movie, you are actually part of it!

You feel what you see as entire Simulator Platform moves accordingly to what is happening on the screen as you watch any of the 10 movies with interactive 3D glasses. At the same time over 7 different special effects kick in that make our movie experience even more “real” and exhilarating.

There’s absolutely no truth on this video, titled "7D Show at Dubai Mall" circulating around social media these days.

7D is (supposedly) a new technology in Virtual Reality amusement, mostly used in cinemas. Instead of just looking at a movie, it is like being in the movie as you will feel what you see with over 7 different special effects kicking in during the thrilling ride. So says Dubai Boy. Massive whale splashes into school Gymnasium

This is a promotional video for a tech startup Magic Leap  https://www.magicleap.com/#/company that shows what type of technology they want to develop, not what they’re currently able to do. In other words, a hologram whale didn’t really jump through a gymnasium floor as amazed children looked on — the video was edited to showcase the technology the company hopes to develop. Never mind that! It’s amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXYmc-X4Cy4

So, for the moment, it looks like Richard Dreyfus won’t be needing a bigger boat and I can safely visit my picture house.
