About the Winner Holly’s role is split into two key areas. Primarily she provides events administration, which is supporting the entire team in various tasks and leading on marketing output. She looks after booking pages and delegate enquires as well as producing event documentation, booking travel and completing event evaluation forms. Holly is also responsible for organising event marketing campaigns, managing all channels such as direct emails, hard copy letters, websites social media and working with media partners.

Significant Achievements Rachael Firth comments, “Our marketing function was in a bit of delicate state when Holly took over and in 9 months she has completely turned that around. She has changed how we construct our marketing campaigns, she plans, adapts, reacts and assesses the effectiveness of our output.”

One of Holly’s key strengths is marketing analytics. She systematically looks at outputs; what we send, when we send it, who looks at it, what makes them look at it, what do they click, what words to they like. She then works with all the data she can find and pieces it together to provide informed advice about future marketing tactics.

Star Qualities Rachael Firth comments, “Holly’s ability to understand almost anything at super speed is a star quality that I genuinely haven’t seen in someone so early on in their career. From understanding the organisations tone of voice in marketing copy to understanding where we fit into the wider sector, our target market, the blockages in a process, Holly gets it and gets it quickly. The ability to not only be the back of house, getting things done super star she is but also wonderful with guests and from her very first day has had the confidence to put them at ease and make them feel welcome is a rare combination.”

The Judges Comments Holly epitomises the “unsung hero”. Since being appointed to the role of supporting the events and marketing teams she has quietly and thoroughly managed all the nitty gritty of making those functions run efficiently. This has obviously freed up time and resources for her other team members to focus on their key roles, as they have absolute confidence that Holly will manage all the “back room functions”. In addition, she has of her own accord taken the initiative to reorganized and improve marketing processes, measurement and reporting. She clearly understands the issues faced by the team and has worked to find solutions for them.
